We were asked to look at this door panel as the customer explained that the door panel was very flimsy and quite dangerous. When we physically saw the door most of the solders had failed and a couple of pieces of glass were broken. We suggested that the best option would be to completely re lead the door panel and add steel supports inside the lead which adds lots of strength to the panel. We took the entire door away to work on at our workshop. The door panel was removed from the door and a template was taken to work to. The panel was then stripped down removing all the good unbroken glass from the old lead. These pieces were cleaned and in addition to new pieces being cut, the door panel was re leaded using matching profiles of lead. The panel was then cemented, cleaned and re fitted into the door ready to be dropped off with the customer.
