Birds and Flowers

This encapsulated window was a joy to make. The customer sent over various images of flowers reeds, birds etc and wanted a bespoke design for a window incorporating a few if these elements. We firstly drew the design in A4 size and then a full sized template design was drawn.

Different textures and colours of glass were used to make this window bright and vibrant. There were hundreds of pieces of glass that were hand cut, then the panel was put together using lead came (the leading process) and soldered. The panel was the cemented and cleaned and polished before being encapsulated inside a double glazed unit.

Once the encapsulation was ready we simply removed the existing double glazed unit and swapped in the encapsulated panel.

The customer was thrilled with the window and so were we.
